Unlike the other homes on Keltic Drive in Judique, this lovely custom built hideaway is up a 400 foot lane in a completely private situation on 2 acres. And yet it has access to municipal water and sewer! Built in 2002 and added to in 2005, everything still looks new and fresh, from the glowing pine interiors to the immaculate crawl space foundation. Three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a second living room upstairs. Gazebo, garage, decks, gardens …. this home has everything and comes completely furnished and equipped.
House
The original structure built In 2002 was expanded in 2006 with the addition of a large ‘wing’ containing the master bedroom suite.
The entrance is from a side deck into the living room.
Together with the kitchen, dining nook, one bedroom and bathroom, that comprises the original main floor. The master bedroom addition consists of a huge 5-piece bathroom, custom walk-in closet and the bedroom. Off the bedroom, patio doors open onto to a rear deck. Accessing this suite from the living area takes you through another room with laundry, second fridge/freezer, cupboard storage etc.
Upstairs is another bedroom and a living room with doors out to an upper level deck.
Most of the walls and ceilings are pine, with larch floors. Custom cabinetry and woodwork is everywhere.
As mentioned the home has municipal water and sewer. There is a waste water pump to reach the municipal connection, with an automatic alarm if the pump should fail.
The foundation crawl space is spotless - see the photos! It has automatic extraction fans, good lighting and is insulated and sealed against ground water and condensation. Crawl space also has independent power sockets for an external generator. In the event of a power outage the generator outside is plugged into a connection on the exterior of the house to power these sockets.
Land
Most of the land is wooded. Trees planted by the owners include oak, maple, white ash and fir. There are perennials, flowers in pots, flowering shrubs climbing to the upper deck … just an idyllic scene.
At the back a path leads over a footbridge and the ocean beach is just a few minutes walk. On the way you cross the Celtic Shores Coastal Trail, the former railway line to Inverness, running 50 miles up the western shore of Cape Breton. This is now a beautifully maintained (and level!) trail, perfect for walking and cycling.
The property is surveyed and migrated.

Outbuildings
The fully screened gazebo is a great place to sit or entertain, large and comfortable.
The garage, 20 x 20 is not a typical garage, and not used for parking vehicles. It is (that word again) immaculate… really. Spotless and dust free (the owners hobbies, involving electronics, demanded this). Garage and Gazebo were added in 2006.
A 12 x 12 shed does house equipment: mowers etc.
Inclusions
The furniture is included in the sale. So is almost everything else on the property. See details below after the photos.
Location
Judique is a little village on the west coast of Cape Breton, about 28km from the Causeway where the Trans Canada Highway crosses to the mainland. This makes it relatively easy to get to, for instance it is less than a 2.5 hour drive from Halifax airport.
But Judique is big in the music world. It houses the Celtic Music Centre, a year-round venue for concerts, workshops, and ceilidhs.
About 50km north is Inverness with amenities like a full service hospital, Cabot golf courses, harness racing, and restaurants. Port Hood and Mabou provide more attractions. So many beautiful beaches within easy driving distance up the coast.
The Coastal Trail a few hundred feet from this property provides great opportunities on the doorstep for hiking and biking. And the ocean is just a couple of hundred feet beyond the trail.
