Vintage East Lake home.........................................$164,500

This classic Cape Breton-style home on 8.25 acres has been carefully tended and restored. Larger than it seems at first sight, the house has altogether 5 bedrooms, plus living and dining rooms, entry porch, a TV room, a screened porch... lots of rooms actually, in the old style - before open-plan became the vogue.

A whimsical mowed path leads to the lake shore, where a gravel beach provides easy access to the water. A stream runs through the property to the lake, and the property has 645' of lake frontage.

The house sits at the back of a sloping hayfield giving the widest lake views - at least 180 degrees.

The entry porch has a second sink - handy for cleaning fish - then one enters the main kitchen dominated by a beautiful reproduction cooking stove (included in the sale). A kitchenette is off this room, also a small TV room or office. The formal dining room has glass doors out to the screened porch - wonderful views from here. Then there's the living room (with an organ) and a bedroom completes the main floor.

From the screen porch:

Upstairs are 3 bedrooms and the bathroom off one corridor, and the master bedroom off another. Fully six rooms of the house have windows facing the lake. The house is full of antiques and collectibles accumulated over years, and much of it is available - negotiable - to a buyer.

Two outbuildings - a garage and a smaller shed - have been rebuilt and are in great condition.

Surveyed and migrated.

Coincidentally - a different owner, a different brokerage - 6.2 acres of vacant land adjoining this is for sale (asking price $120,000).

Location

A convenient place to get to, and to explore from, this situation on a good paved road (highway 395) is 11 miles to Inverness for shops and restaurants, full hospital, golf and ocean beaches. And 15 miles to Whycocomagh and the Trans Canada Highway, from which one can drive to.... well, anywhere in North America.
